A doctor, teacher and businessman by profession, Sarwar is also the reigning Dhaka Rallycross Championship champion. He entered the event following a third-place finish in the Auto Gymkhana Male Double category at the Malaysia Festival of Speed in September, held at Sepang International Circuit.
